The Águilas del América delivered a 10-0 thrashing that left Cruz Azul wondering how their season plans collapsed so quickly during the Liga MX Femenil match at Estadio Banorte. The current champions displayed total control from start to finish, confirming their status as the team to beat while chasing a bicampeonato that now looks more inevitable than ever after this performance against a side that arrived with high hopes and the signing of Belén Cruz.

This result enters the record books alongside the league’s biggest routs since 2017. América itself holds the all-time mark with a 12-1 victory over Morelia in 2018 at Estadio Morelos. Pachuca contributed the 10-2 win against Toluca in 2023 at Estadio Hidalgo and a 9-1 result over Cruz Azul in 2017. Tigres produced two 9-0 scores, first against León in 2017 at Estadio Universitario and later versus Santos Laguna in 2023, plus an 8-0 against Mazatlán in 2022. Monterrey added a 9-0 over Mazatlán at Estadio BBVA in January 2025 along with earlier 8-0 triumphs against Necaxa and Querétaro in 2018. These margins illustrate the offensive strength that has shaped the competition.

The 10-0 scoreline at Banorte underscored América’s superiority in every area while Cruz Azul’s defensive structure simply could not withstand the pressure. The match served as a reminder that even well-funded projects can face sudden reality checks when facing the league leaders. Fans and analysts now watch to see whether the Celeste can recover their earlier form or if this defeat becomes the turning point that forces adjustments before the season advances further.
